WisdomLand School is a campus landscape proposal in Ballari, conceived to transform the school’s open areas into a multifunctional, student-centric outdoor environment. The design organizes movement, improves comfort, and introduces defined zones for gathering, learning, play, and everyday campus life—while strengthening the overall identity of the school.
Our landscape approach focuses on creating a safe, shaded, and legible campus framework—where the outdoors works as an extension of the classroom and supports the school’s daily routines.
Key intentions include:
A clear arrival and entry sequence with controlled access, drop-off clarity, and a strong campus identity element
Better microclimate comfort around the school block through shaded structures and tree-led buffers
A structured open-space hierarchy—formal assembly, informal learning pockets, activity zones, and sports courts
Strengthened site periphery screening to create privacy, safety, and a green campus edge
Organized circulation and functional everyday usability, avoiding leftover or undefined spaces
Based on the site conditions, key interventions were developed to improve function, safety, and comfort:
Entry/Exit management with a defined gateway, security cabin integration, and filtered student entry
Organized parking strategy to reduce congestion and improve safety during peak hours
Periphery screening proposal with continuous green buffers to strengthen the campus boundary
Semi-shaded spill-out zones along the building edge to reduce harsh sunlight and support daily use
The landscape is structured into purposeful zones that support both academic and extracurricular life:
Assembly + Events
A dedicated assembly ground with a shaded stage (pergola / tensile canopy intent) for comfort during programs
An amphitheatre as a flexible gathering space for performances, discussions, and informal learning
Outdoor Classroom & Seat-outs
An outdoor classroom supported by trellis seating—creating a shaded, nature-led learning pocket
Activity Zones
Interactive play and learning pockets such as a science park, puzzle/game corners, climbing elements, and lawn mounds—planned for structured and unstructured engagement
Active Play & Sports
A dedicated sports zone with courts (as per requirement), including kabaddi and multi-court planning, alongside spectator and support areas
A sand pit and nature-led play spaces to encourage sensory and exploratory play
The campus landscape language balances function, comfort, and identity—using shaded promenades, seating courts, trellis pockets, and clearly zoned activity areas to support safe movement and everyday usability. Planting and edge buffers are designed to strengthen privacy, improve thermal comfort, and create a greener learning environment across the campus.
